Gerçekleşenin ne olduğunu nerden bileceksin? |
| Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! |
|
| 4. |
Semûd ve 'Âd (kavimleri), başa çarpan olayı yalanladılar. |
| (The tribes of) Thamud and 'Aad disbelieved in the Judgement to come. |
|
| 5. |
Bu yüzden Semûd (kavmi) azgın bir vak'a ile helâk edildiler. |
| As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. |
|
| 6. |
'Âd (kavmi) ise uğultulu, azgın bir kasırga ile helâk edildiler. |
| And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, |
|
| 7. |
(Allâh) Onu, yedi gece, sekiz gün ardı ardına onların üzerine saldı. O kavmi orada, içi boş hurma kütükleri gibi serilmiş görürsün. |
| Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. |

| Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? |
|
| 9. |
Fir'avn ve ondan öncekiler ve altüst olmuş kentler(in halkı olan Lût kavmi) de hatâlı iş yaptılar. |
| And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, |
|
| 10. |
Rablerinin elçisine karşı geldiler. O da onları şiddeti gittikçe artan bir yakalayışla yakaladı. |
| And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefore did He grip them with a tightening grip. |
|
| 11. |
Su(lar) kabarınca biz sizi, akıp giden(gemi)de taşıdık. |
| Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the shipp |
|
| 12. |
Ki onu size bir ibret yapalım ve belleyen kulak(lar) onu bellesin. |
| That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. |
|
| 13. |
Sûr'a bir tek üfleme üflendiği, |
| And when the Trumpet shall sound one blastt |
|
| 14. |
Arz ve dağlar yerlerinden kaldırılıp şiddetle birbirine çarpılarak darmadağın olduğu zaman, |
| And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, |
|
| 15. |
İşte o gün, olan olmuştur. |
| Then, on that day will the Event befall. |
|
| 16. |
Gök yarılmıştır; o gün o, zayıf, sarkıktır. |
| And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. |
|
| 17. |
Melekler de onun kenarlarındadır. O gün Rabbinin tahtını, üstlerinde sekiz (melek) taşır. |
| And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of their Lord that day, above them. |
|
| 18. |
O gün (Allah'a) arz olunursunuz. Sizden hiçbir giz, (Allah'a) gizli kalmaz. |
| On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. |
|
| 19. |
Kitabı sağından verilen: "Alın Kitabımı okuyun" der. |
| Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! |
|
| 20. |
Ben hesabımla karşılaşacağımı sezmiştim zaten. |
| Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. |
|
| 21. |
Artık o, memmun eden bir yaşam içindedir. |
| Then he will be in blissful statee |
|
| 22. |
Yüksek bir bahçede. |
| In a high Gardenn |
|
| 23. |
Ki devşirmesi kolay (meyvaları yakın. Oturan, elini uzatıp alabilir). |
| Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. |
|
| 24. |
Geçmiş günlerde yaptığınız işlerden ötürü âfiyetle yeyin, için! |
| (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. |
|
| 25. |
Kitabı sol tarafından verilen ise der ki: "Keşke bana Kitabım verilmeseydi!" |
| But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my bookk |
|
| 26. |
Şu hesabımı hiç bilmemiş olsaydım! |
| And knew not what my reckoning! |
|
| 27. |
Keşke (ölüm) işimi bitirmiş olsaydı! |
| Oh, would that it had been death! |
|
| 28. |
Malım bana hiçbir yarar sağlamadı. |
| My wealth hath not availed me, |
|
| 29. |
Gücüm (saltanatım) benden yok olup gitti |
| My power hath gone from me. |
|
| 30. |
(Allâh, cehennemin muhafızlarına buyurur:) "Tutun onu, bağlayın onu." |
| (It will be said): Take him and fetter himm |
|
| 31. |
Sonra cehenneme sallayın onu! |
| And then expose him to hell-firee |
|
| 32. |
Sonra uzunluğu yetmiş arşın olan zincire vurun onu! |
| And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. |
|
| 33. |
Çünkü o büyük Allah'a inanmıyordu. |
| Lo! he used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, |
|
| 34. |
Yoksulu doyurmaya ön ayak olmuyurdu! |
| And urged not on the feeding of the wretched, |
|
| 35. |
Bugün burada onun için candan bir dost yoktur. |
| Therefore hath he no lover here this day, |
|
| 36. |
İrinden başka yiyecek de yoktur. |
| Nor any food save filthh |
|
| 37. |
Onu, (bile bile) hatâ işleyenlerden başkası yemez. |
| Which none but sinners eat. |
|
| 38. |
Yoo, yemin ederim; gördüklerinize, |
| But nay! I swear by all that ye seee |
|
| 39. |
Ve görmediklerinize, |
| And all that ye see nott |
|
| 40. |
Ki, o (Kur'ân) elbette değerli bir elçinin sözüdür. |
| That it is indeed the speech of an illustrious messenger. |
|
| 41. |
O, bir şâ'irin sözü değildir. Ne de az inanıyorsunuz! |
| It is not poet's speech - little is it that ye believe! |
|
| 42. |
Bir kâhinin sözü de değildir. Ne de az düşünüyorsunuz! |
| Nor diviner's speech - little is it that ye remember! |
|
| 43. |
Âlemlerin Rabbi tarafından indirilmiştir. |
| It is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. |
|
| 44. |
Eğer o, (Muhammed), bazı laflar uydurup bize iftirâ etseydi, |
| And if he had invented false sayings concerning Us, |
|
| 45. |
Elbette onun sağ(elini veya kuvvet)ini alırdık. |
| We assuredly had taken him by the right handd |
|
| 46. |
Sonra onun can damarını keserdik. |
| And then severed his life-artery, |
|
| 47. |
Sizden hiç kimse buna engel olamazdı. |
| And not one of you could have held Us off from him. |
|
| 48. |
O (Kur'ân), korunanlar için bir öğüttür. |
| And lo! it is a warrant unto those who ward off (evil). |
|
| 49. |
Biz, içinizde yalanlayanlar bulunduğunu elbette biliyoruz. |
| And lo! We know that some among you will deny (it). |
|
| 50. |
Doğrusu o, kâfirler için hasrettir. |
| And lo! it is indeed an anguish for the disbelievers. |
