Nûn. Kaleme ve (kalemle) yazdıklarına andolsun. |
| Nun. By the pen and that which they write (therewith),, |
|
| 2. |
Sen, Rabbinin ni'metiyle cinlenmiş (deli) değilsin. |
| Thou art not, for thy Lord's favour unto thee, a madman. |
|
| 3. |
Senin için kesintisiz bir mükâfât vardır. |
| And lo! thine verily will be a reward unfailing. |
|
| 4. |
Ve sen, büyük bir ahlâk üzerindesin. |
| And lo! thou art of a tremendous nature. |
|
| 5. |
(Sen de) Göreceksin, onlar da görecekler; |
| And thou wilt see and they will seee |
|
| 6. |
Hanginizin fitnelenmiş (cin çarpmış delirmiş) olduğunu. |
| Which of you is the demented. |
|
| 7. |
Şüphesiz Rabbin, kim(ler)in kendi yolundan saptığını ve kimlerin yolda olduğunu en iyi bilen O'dur. |
| Lo! thy Lord is Best Aware of him who strayeth from His way, and He is Best Aware of those who walk aright. |
|
| 8. |
Öyleyse yalanlayanlara itâ'at etme. |
| Therefore obey not thou the rejecterss |
|
| 9. |
İstediler ki, sen yağcılık yapasın da onlar da yağcılık yapsınlar (sana yumuşak davransınlar). |
| Who would have had thee compromise, that they may compromise. |
|
| 10. |
Şunların hiçbirine itâ'at etme: Yemin edip duran aşağılık, |
| Neither obey thou each feeble oath-monger, |
|
| 11. |
Kötüleyip duran, söz götürüp getiren, |
| Detractor, spreader abroad of slanders? |
|
| 12. |
Hayra engel olan, saldırgan, günâhkâr, |
| Hinderer of the good, transgressor, malefactorr |
|
| 13. |
Kaba, sonra da kötülükle damgalı, |
| Greedy, therewithal, intrusive. |
|
| 14. |
Mal ve oğullar sâhibi olmuş diye (yolunu şaşırmış). |
| It is because he is possessed of wealth and childrenn |
|
| 15. |
Kendisine âyetlerimiz okunduğu zaman: "Eskilerin masalları" der. |
| That, when Our revelations are recited unto him, he saith: Mere fables of the men of old. |
|
| 16. |
Biz onu burnunun üzerine damga vurup işâretleyeceğiz. |
| We shall brand him on the nose. |
|
| 17. |
Biz bunlara da belâ verdik, şu bahçe sâhiplerine belâ verdiğimiz gibi: Hani onlar, sabah olunca bahçeyi mutlaka devşireceklerine yemin etmişlerdi. |
| Lo! we have tried them as We tried the owners of the garden when they vowed they would pluck its fruit next morning. |

İstisnâ da etmiyorlar(Allâh dilerse biçeriz demiyorlar)dı. |
| And made no exception (for the will of Allah); |
|
| 19. |
Fakat onlar uyurlarken hemen (gönderilen) dolaşıcı bir belâ, onu sardı da, |
| Then a visitation came upon it while they sleptt |
|
| 20. |
Bahçe simsiyah kesiliverdi. |
| And in the morning it was as if plucked. |
|
| 21. |
Sabahleyin birbirlerine seslendiler: |
| And they cried out one unto another in the morning, |
|
| 22. |
Haydi devşirecekseniz erkenden ekininize gidin diye. |
| Saying: Run unto your field if ye would pluck (the fruit). |
|
| 23. |
Derken yürüdüler; fısıldaşıyorlardı: |
| So they went off, saying one unto another in low tones: |
|
| 24. |
Sakın, bugün hiçbir yoksul bahçeye girip yanınıza sokulmasın diye. |
| No needy man shall enter it today against you. |
|
| 25. |
Devşirebileceklerini umarak erkenden gittiler. |
| They went betimes, strong in (this) purpose. |
|
| 26. |
Fakat bahçeyi görünce: "Herhalde biz yolu şaşırdık." dediler. |
| But when they saw it, they said: Lo! we are in error! |
|
| 27. |
Hayır, doğrusu biz mahrum bırakıldık! |
| Nay, but we are desolate! |
|
| 28. |
Orta(yolda giden iyi)leri: "Ben size demedim mi? Rabbinizi tesbih etmeniz gerekmez miydi?" dedi. |
| The best among them said: Said I not unto you: Why glorify ye not (Allah)? |
|
| 29. |
Rabbimizi tesbih ederiz, doğrusu biz zulmedenlermişiz! dediler. |
| They said: Glorified be our Lord! Lo! we have been wrong-doers. |
|
| 30. |
Dönüp birbirlerini kınamağa başladılar: |
| Then some of them drew near unto others, self-reproaching. |
|
| 31. |
Yazık bize, dediler, biz azgınlarmışız! |
| They said: Alas for us! In truth we were outrageous. |
|
| 32. |
"Belki Rabbimiz, bize onun yerine ondan daha iyisini verir. Biz Rabbimize yönelir, O'ndan umarız. |
| It may be that our Lord will give us better than this in place thereof. Lo! we beseech our Lord." |
|
| 33. |
İşte azâb böyledir. Âhiret azâbı ise daha büyüktür, keşke bilselerdi. |
| Such was the punishment. And verily the punishment of the Hereafter is greater if they did but know. |
|
| 34. |
Korunanlar için de Rableri katında ni'met bahçeleri vardır. |
| Lo! for those who keep from evil are gardens of bliss with their Lord. |
|
| 35. |
Biz müslümanları suçlular gibi yapar mıyız hiç? |
| Shall We then treat those who have surrendered as We treat the guilty? |
|
| 36. |
Neyiniz var, nasıl hüküm veriyorsunuz? |
| What aileth you? How foolishly ye judge! |
|
| 37. |
Yoksa sizin bir Kitabınız var da onda mı (bu hükümleri) okuyorsunuz? |
| Or have ye a Scripture wherein ye learnn |
|
| 38. |
Onda istediğiniz her şeyi buluyorsunuz? |
| That ye shall indeed have all that ye choose? |
|
| 39. |
Yoksa sizin istediğiniz hükmü verebileceğinize dair, kıyâmete kadar sürecek andlarınız mı var üzerimizde? |
| Or have ye a covenant on oath from Us that reacheth to the Day of Judgement, that yours shall be all that ye ordain? |
|
| 40. |
Sor onlara: Onların hangisi buna kefil olacak? |
| Ask them (O Muhammad) which of them will vouch for that! |
|
| 41. |
Yoksa kendilerinin ortakları mı var? Doğru iseler ortaklarını çağırsınlar. |
| Or have they other gods? Then let them bring their other gods if they are truthfull |
|
| 42. |
Bacaktan açılacağı (paçanın sıvanacağı, işlerin güçleşeceği) ve secdeye da'vet edilecekleri gün (secde) edemezler. |
| On the day when it befalleth in earnest, and they are ordered to prostrate themselves but are not able, |
|
| 43. |
Gözleri düşük olarak yüzlerini bir zillet kaplar. Onlar sağlam iken de secdeye da'vet edilirler(fakat secde etmezler)di. |
| With eyes downcast, abasement stupefying them. And they had been summoned to prostrate themselves while they were yet unhurt. |
|
| 44. |
Bu sözü yalanlayanı bana bırak; onları bilmedikleri yerden derece derece (azâba) yaklaştıracağız. |
| Leave Me (to deal) with those who give the lie to this pronouncement. We shall lead them on by steps from whence they know not. |
|
| 45. |
Onlara mühlet veriyorum. Doğrusu benim tuzağım sağlamdır (onu kimse bozamaz). |
| Yet I bear with them, for lo! My scheme is firm. |
|
| 46. |
Yoksa sen onlardan bir ücret istiyorsun da onlar ağır borç altında mı kalıyorlar? |
| Or dost thou (Muhammad) ask a fee from them so that they are heavily taxed? |
|
| 47. |
Yoksa gayb (görünmez bilgi hazinesi), kendi yanlarında da onlar mı (istedikleri gibi) yazıyorlar? |
| Or is the Unseen theirs that they can write (thereof)? |
|
| 48. |
Sen Rabbinin hükmüne sabret, balık sâhibi (Yûnus) gibi olma. Hani o, sıkıntıdan yutkunarak (Allah'a) seslenmişti. |
| But wait thou for thy Lord's decree, and be not like him of the fish, who cried out in despair. |
|
| 49. |
Eğer Rabbinden ona bir ni'met yetişmeseydi, yerilerek çıplak bir yere atılırdı. |
| Had it not been that favour from his Lord had reached him he surely had been cast into the wilderness while he was reprobate. |
|
| 50. |
Fakat Rabbi onun du'âsını kabul etti de onu Sâlih(iyi insan)lardan yaptı. |
| But his Lord chose him and placed him among the righteous. |
