Yoo, kıyâmet gününe and içerim, |
| Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection;; |
|
| 2. |
Yoo, dâimâ, kendini kınayan nefse and içerim. |
| Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). |
|
| 3. |
İnsan kendisinin kemiklerini bir araya toplamayacağımızı mı sanıyor? |
| Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? |
|
| 4. |
Evet, toplarız, onun parmak uçlarnı düzenlemeğe gücümüz yeter. |
| Yea, verily. Yea, We are able to restore his very fingers! |
|
| 5. |
Fakat insan, devamlı suç işleyerek ilerisini berbâdetmek ister. |
| But man would fain deny what is before him. |
|
| 6. |
Kıyâmet günü nerede? diye sorup durur. |
| He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? |
|
| 7. |
Ama göz (güneş gibi ortaya çıkan gerçeğin karşısında) kamaştığı, |
| But when sight is confoundedd |
|
| 8. |
Ay tutulduğu, |
| And the moon is eclipsedd |
|
| 9. |
Güneş ve Ay bir araya toplandığı zaman! |
| And sun and moon are united, |
|
| 10. |
(Evet) O gün insan: "Kaçacak yer neresi?" der. |
| On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! |
|
| 11. |
Hayır, sığınacak yer yoktur. |
| Alas! No refuge! |
|
| 12. |
O gün varıp durulacak yer, ancak Rabbinin huzûrudur (ey insan). |
| Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. |
|
| 13. |
(O zaman) İnsanın yapıp öne sürdüğü, (yapmayıp) geri bıraktığı herşey kendisine haber verilir. |
| On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. |
|
| 14. |
Doğrusu insan kendi nefsini görür, |
| Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, |
|
| 15. |
Birtakım özürler ortaya atsa da. |
| Although he tender his excuses. |
|
| 16. |
(Ey Muhammed,) Onu hemen okumak için diline depretme. |
| Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. |
|
| 17. |
Onu (senin kalbinde) toplamak ve (sana) okumak bize düşer. |
| Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. |
|
| 18. |
O halde sana Kur'ân'ı okuduğumuz zaman onun okunuşunu izle. |
| And when We read it, follow thou the reading; |
|
| 19. |
Sonra onu açıklamak da bize düşer. |
| Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. |
|
| 20. |
Hayır, siz çabuk(geçen şu dünyây)ı seviyorsunuz da, |
| Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Noww |
|
| 21. |
Âhireti bırakıyorsunuz. |
| And neglect the Hereafter. |
|
| 22. |
Yüzler var ki o gün ışıl ışıl parlar, |
| That day will faces be resplendent, |
|
| 23. |
Rabbine bakar. |
| Looking toward their Lord; |
|
| 24. |
Yüzler de var ki o gün asıktır. |
| And that day will other faces be despondent, |
|
| 25. |
Kendisine bel kemiklerini kıran(belâ)nın yapılacağını anlar. |
| Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. |
|
| 26. |
Hayır, ne zaman ki can, köprücük kemiklerine dayanır, |
| Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throatt |
|
| 27. |
Ve (başında bulunanlar tarafından): "Kim afsun yapar acaba? denir, |
| And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? |
|
| 28. |
Ve kendisi artık bunun, ayrılık zamanı olduğunu anlar, |
| And he knoweth that it is the parting; |
|
| 29. |
Ve bacak bacağa dolaşır. |
| And agony is heaped on agony; |
|
| 30. |
İşte o gün, sevk Rabbinedir (can, Allâh'ın huzûruna sevk edilir). |
| Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. |
|
| 31. |
Ne sadaka verdi, ne de namaz kıldı. |
| For he neither trusted, nor prayedd |
|
| 32. |
Fakat yalanladı, döndü. |
| But he denied and flouted. |
|
| 33. |
Sonra çalım satarak âilesine gitti. |
| Then went he to his folk with glee. |
|
| 34. |
Yazık sana yazık! |
| Nearer unto thee and nearer, |
|
| 35. |
Yine yazık sana yazık! |
| Again nearer unto thee and nearer (is the doom). |
|
| 36. |
İnsan, başı boş bırakılacağını mı sanır? |
| Thinketh man that he is to be left aimless? |
|
| 37. |
Kendisi dökülen meniden bir nutfe (sperm) değil miydi? |
| Was he not a drop of fluid which gushed forth? |
|
| 38. |
Sonra alaka (rahme asılan embriyo) oldu da (Rabbi onu) yarattı, düzenledi. |
| Then he became a clot; then (Allah) shaped and fashionedd |
|
| 39. |
O(meni)den iki çifti: Erkeği ve dişiyi var etti. |
| And made of him a pair, the male and female. |
|
| 40. |
Şimdi bun(ları yapan Allâh)ın ölüleri diriltmeğe gücü yetmez mi? |
| Is not He (Who doth so) able to bring the dead to life? |
