Kâf hâ yâ 'ayn sâd. |
| Kaf. Ha. Ya. 'Ain. Sad. |
|
| 2. |
Bu, Rabbinin, kulu Zekeriyyâ'ya rahmetini anıştır. |
| A mention of the mercy of thy Lord unto His servant Zachariah. |
|
| 3. |
O, Rabbine gizli bir seslenişle yalvarmıştı: |
| When he cried unto his Lord a cry in secret, |
|
| 4. |
Rabbim, demişti, ben, bende kemik gevşedi; baş, ihtiyarlk aleviyle tutuştu. Rabbim, sana du'â ile hiçbir zaman bahtsız olmadım (her du'â ettikçe kabul buyurdun, beni istediğimden mahrum etmedin). |
| Saying: My Lord! Lo! the bones of me wax feeble and my head is shining with grey hair, and I have never been unblest in prayer to Thee, my Lord. |
|
| 5. |
"Doğrusu ben arkamdan, yerime geçecek yakınlar(ımın iyi hareket etmeycekler)inden korktum; karım da kısır. (Ne olur) katından bana yerime geçecek bir veli lutfet. |
| Lo! I fear my kinsfolk after me, since my wife is barren. Oh, give me from Thy presence a successorr" |
|
| 6. |
Ki, (o), bana ve Ya'kûb oğullarına mirâsçı olsun. Rabbim, onu beğendiğin bir insan yap. |
| Who shall inherit of me and inherit (also) of the house of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, acceptable (unto Thee). |
|
| 7. |
(Allâh buyurdu): Ey Zekeriyyâ, biz sana bir oğul müjdeleriz, adı Yahyâ'dır. Daha önce ona hiç kimseyi adaş yapmadık (ondan önce kimseye bu adı vermedik.)" |
| (It was said unto him): O Zachariah! Lo! We bring thee tidings of a son whose name is John; We have given the same name to none before (him). |

| 8. |
(Zekeriyyâ): "Rabbim, dedi benim nasıl oğlum olur? Karım da kısırdır. Ben ise ihtiyarlığın son sınırına vardım." |
| He said: My Lord! How can I have a son when my wife is barren and I have reached infirm old age? |
|
| 9. |
Dedi: "Öyledir, ama Rabbin: 'O bana kolaydır, daha önce sen de hiçbir şey değilken seni de yaratmıştım' dedi." |
| He said: So (it will be). Thy Lord saith: It is easy for Me, even as I created thee before, when thou wast naught. |
|
| 10. |
Rabbim, dedi, (öyle ise) bana bir işâret ver. "Senin işâretin, sapasağlam olduğun halde tam üç gece (ve gündüz) insanlarla konuşamamandır." dedi. |
| He said: My Lord! Appoint for me some token. He said: Thy token is that thou, with no bodily defect, shalt not speak unto mankind three nights. |
|
| 11. |
(Zekeriyyâ), ma'bedden kavminin karşısına çıkıp onlara: "Sabah akşam (Rabbinizi) tesbih edin!" diye işâret etti. |
| Then he came forth unto his people from the sanctuary, and signified to them: Glorify your Lord at break of day and fall of night. |
|
| 12. |
Ey Yahyâ, Kitabı kuvvetle tut (Onun emirlerini uygula). (dedik) ve ona çocuk iken hikmet verdik. |
| (And it was said unto his son): O John! Hold the Scripture. And We gave him wisdom when a child. |
|
| 13. |
Katımızdan bir rahmet (bir acıma duygusu) ve temizlik de (verdik; o günâhlardan) korunan oldu. |
| And compassion from Our presence, and purity; and he was devout, |
|
| 14. |
Ana babasına iyilik ediciydi, baş kaldıran bir zorba değildi. |
| And dutiful toward his parents. And he was not arrogant, rebellious. |
|
| 15. |
Doğduğu gün, öleceği gün ve diri olarak kaldırılacağı gün ona selâm olsun! |
| Peace on him the day he was born, and the day he dieth and the day he shall be raised alive! |
|
| 16. |
Kitapta Meryem'i de an. Bir zaman o âilesinden ayrılıp doğu yönünde bir yere çekilmişti. |
| And make mention of Mary in the Scripture, when she had withdrawn from her people to a chamber looking East, |
|
| 17. |
Onlarla kendisi arasına bir perde çekmişti. Biz de ruhumuzu (Cebrâil'i) ona gönderdik. (O) ona düzgün bir insan şeklinde göründü. |
| And had chosen seclusion from them. Then We sent unto her Our spirit and it assumed for her the likeness of a perfect man. |
|
| 18. |
(Meryem) dedi ki: "Ben senden, çok esirgeyen(Allâh)'a sığınırım. Eğer (Allah'tan) korkuyorsan (bana dokunma)." |
| She said: Lo! I seek refuge in the Beneficent One from thee, if thou art God-fearing. |
|
| 19. |
(Ruh): "Ben, dedi, sadece Rabbinin elçisiyim. Sana tertemiz bir erkek çocuğu hediye edeyim diye (geldim)." |
| He said: I am only a messenger of thy Lord, that I may bestow on thee a faultless son. |
|
| 20. |
Benim nasıl oğlum olur, dedi, bana bir insan dokunmadı ve ben bir kahpe de değilim. |
| She said: How can I have a son when no mortal hath touched me, neither have I been unchaste! |
|
| 21. |
(Ruh): "Öyledir, dedi, Rabbin: 'O bana kolaydır. Onu insanlara bir mu'cize ve bizden bir rahmet kılmak için (bunu yapacağız)' dedi" ve iş olup bitti. |
| He said: So (it will be). Thy Lord saith: It is easy for Me. And (it will be) that We may make of him a revelation for mankind and a mercy from Us, and it is a thing ordained. |
|
| 22. |
(Meryem), ona gebe kaldı. Onunla uzak bir yere çekildi. |
| And she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a far place. |
|
| 23. |
Doğum sancısı onu, bir hurma dalı(nın altı)na getirdi. "Keşke dedi, bundan önce ölseydim, unutulup gitseydim!" |
| And the pangs of childbirth drove her unto the trunk of the palm tree. She said: Oh, would that I had died ere this and had become a thing of naught, forgotten! |
|
| 24. |
Altından (Ruh) ona şöyle seslendi: "Üzülme Rabbin alt tarafında bir su arkı var etti." |
| Then (one) cried unto her from below her, saying: Grieve not! Thy Lord hath placed a rivulet beneath thee, |
|
| 25. |
Hurma dalını sana doğru silkele, üzerine olmuş, taze hurma dökülsün. |
| And shake the trunk of the palm-tree toward thee; thou wilt cause ripe dates to fall upon thee. |
|
| 26. |
Ye, iç, gözün aydın olsun! Eğer insanlardan birini görürsen: Ben Rahmân için (susma) oruc(u) adadım, bugün hiçbir insanla konuşmayacağım" de." |
| So eat and drink and be consoled. And if thou meetest any mortal, say: Lo! I have vowed a fast unto the Beneficent, and may not speak this day to any mortal. |
|
| 27. |
(Meryem) onu taşıyarak kavmine getirdi: "Ey Meryem, dediler, sen tuhaf bir iş yaptın." |
| Then she brought him to her own folk, carrying him. They said: O Mary! Thou hast come with an amazing thing. |
|
| 28. |
Ey Hârûn'un kızkardeşi, baban kötü bir adam değildi, annen de fâhişe değildi (sen ne yaptın böyle)? |
| Oh sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a wicked man nor was thy mother a harlot. |
|
| 29. |
(Meryem), çocuğu gösterdi. Dediler ki: "Beşikteki çocukla nasıl konuşuruz?" |
| Then she pointed to him. They said: How can we talk to one who is in the cradle, a young boy? |
|
| 30. |
(Çocuk): "Ben Allâh'ın kuluyum, dedi,(O) bana Kitabı verdi, beni peygamber yaptı." |
| He spake: Lo! I am the slave of Allah. He hath given me the Scripture and hath appointed me a Prophet, |
|
| 31. |
Beni bulunduğum her yerde yararlı kıldı. Sağ olduğum sürece bana namaz kılmayı, zekât vermeyi emretti! |
| And hath made me blessed wheresoever I may be, and hath enjoined upon me prayer and almsgiving so long as I remain alive, |
|
| 32. |
(Beni) anneme iyilik eder (kıldı), beni baş kaldıran bir zorba yapmadı. |
| And (hath made me) dutiful toward her who bore me, and hath not made me arrogant, unblest. |
|
| 33. |
"Doğduğum gün de, öleceğim gün de ve diri olarak kaldırılacağım gün de bana esenlik verilmiştir. |
| Peace on me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!" |
|
| 34. |
İşte Meryem oğlu Îsâ. Şüphe edip ayrılığa düştükleri şey, "gerçek söz"e göre budur. |
| Such was Jesus, son of Mary, (this is) a statement of the truth concerning which they doubt. |
|
| 35. |
Çocuk edinmek, Allah'a yakışmaz. O'nun şânı yücedir. Bir işi yapmak istedi mi ona sadece "ol" der, (o da) olur. |
| It befitteth not (the Majesty of) Allah that He should take unto Himself a son. Glory be to Him! When He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it is. |
|
| 36. |
Şüphesiz, Allâh benim de Rabbim, sizin de Rabbinizdir, O'na kulluk edin. İşte doğru yol budur. |
| And lo! Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So serve Him. That is the right path. |
|
| 37. |
Kendi aralarından hizipler, ayrılığa düştüler. Artık büyük bir günü görmekten ötürü vay kâfirlerin haline! |
| The sects among them differ: but woe unto the disbelievers from the meeting of an awful Day. |
|
| 38. |
Bize geldikleri gün ne güzel işitir, ne güzel görürler. Ama o zâlimler, bugün apaçık sapıklık içindedirler! |
| See and hear them on the Day they come unto Us! Yet the evil-doers are today in error manifest. |
|
| 39. |
Onları şu hasret gününe karşı uyar ki, o zaman kendileri gaflet içinde inanmamakta ısrar ederlerken iş bitirilmiş olur (yaptıklarına pişman olup hasret çeker dururlar, ama iş işten geçmiştir artık). |
| And warn them of the Day of anguish when the case hath been decided. Now they are in a state of carelessness, and they believe not. |
|
| 40. |
Dünyâya ve üzerinde bulunanlara biz vâris oluruz biz, ve bize döndürülürler. |
| Lo! We inherit the earth and all who are thereon, and unto Us they are returned. |
|
| 41. |
Kitapta İbrâhim'i de an; gerçekten o, çok doğru bir peygamberdi. |
| And make mention (O Muhammad) in the Scripture of Abraham. Lo! he was a saint, a Prophet. |
|
| 42. |
Babasına demişti ki: "Babacığım, işitmeyen görmeyen ve sana hiçbir yararı olmayan şeylere niçin tapıyorsun?" |
| When he said unto his father: O my father! Why worshippest thou that which heareth not nor seeth, nor can in aught avail thee? |
|
| 43. |
Babacığım, bana sana, gelmeyen bir bilgi geldi; bana uy, seni düzgün bir yola ileteyim. |
| O my father! Lo! there hath come unto me of knowledge that which came not unto thee. So follow me, and I will lead thee on a right path. |
|
| 44. |
Babacığım, şeytâna tapma, çünkü şeytân, Rahmân'a isyân etmiştir. |
| O my father! Serve not the devil. Lo! the devil is a rebel unto the Beneficent. |
|
| 45. |
Babacığım, ben sana Rahmân'dan bir azâbın dokunmasından korkuyorum. O zaman, şeytânın dostu olursun. |
| O my father! Lo! I fear lest a punishment from the Beneficent overtake thee so that thou become a comrade of the devil. |
|
| 46. |
(Babası): "Ey İbrâhim, dedi, sen benim tanrılarımdan yüz mü çeviriyorsun? Eğer (onlara dil uzatmaktan) vazgeçmezsen, andolsun seni taşlarım. Uzun süre benden ayrıl, git!" |
| He said: Rejectest thou my gods, O Abraham? If thou cease not, I shall surely stone thee. Depart from me a long while! |
|
| 47. |
(İbrâhim): "Selâm sana, (esenlik içinde kal), dedi, senin için Rabbimden mağfiret dileyeceğim. Çünkü O, bana çok lutufkârdır." |
| He said: Peace be unto thee! I shall ask forgiveness of my Lord for thee. Lo! He was ever gracious unto me. |
|
| 48. |
Sizden de, Allah'tan başka yalvardıklarınızdan da ayrılıyor ve yalnız Rabbime yalvarıyorum. Umarım ki Rabbime yalvarmakla bahtsız olmam (istediklerimden mahrum bırakılmam). |
| I shall withdraw from you and that unto which ye pray beside Allah, and I shall pray unto my Lord. It may be that, in prayer unto my Lord, I shall not be unblest. |
|
| 49. |
İşte onlardan ve onların Allah'tan başka taptıklarından ayrılınca biz ona İshak'ı ve (İshak'ın oğlu) Ya'kûb'u armağan ettik ve hepsini de peygamber yaptık. |
| So, when he had withdrawn from them and that which they were worshipping beside Allah, We gave him Isaac and Jacob. Each of them We made a Prophet. |
|
| 50. |
Onlara rahmetimizden (mal ve çocuk) lutfettik ve onlar için yüce bir doğruluk dili verdik. |
| And We gave them of Our mercy, and assigned to them a high and true renown. |
